Friendship Sundays:
The first Sunday of each month is designated as
Friendship Sunday. After the Masses, cookies, donuts and juice and coffee are served. All are
encouraged to stay around after Mass and meet new people or enjoy visiting
with friends in the hall and gathering space.

Lenten Fish Fries:
The Knights of Columbus host a Lenten Fish Fry each Friday night of Lent
at the St. Boniface parish hall. This is one of the best fish fries in
the area and is always well attended by the parish and general public.
Another great opportunity for meeting new friends and socializing with
old ones. |

At the Advent and Lenten Family Festivals
families enjoy making crafts together.

Motorcycle group - Blessed Bikers
The motorcycle group meets
starting in May and rides continue, weather permitting, until fall. The
group welcome new and old riders of any faith to join them on Mondays at
6:00 p.m. Meet in the church parking lot. |

Vacation Bible School: Held a week in
June for ages 4 through grade 4. |

The Young Adults Group is a way for
young adult parishioners to get involved in St. Boniface through social
activities, family gatherings and volunteer projects. The group includes
single adults and married couples as well as those with kids or
without.

The Boomer Group
is a social/service group for active adults
who share common experiences such as approaching retirement or recently
retired, having children leaving home, and caring for elderly parents.

Ice Cream
Social: St. Boniface is one of the
Waukee churches who take a turn hosting an ice cream social on the
Wednesdays of June at the Waukee Elementary grounds.

Golf Outing:
A Four Person Best Shot golf outing is organized each June. Individuals,
twosomes and foursomes are encouraged to sign up. The location may vary,
but is always within the metro area. The cost is paid by each
participant. A fun way to get to know other parishioners! |

The Knights of Columbus
collect gate fees at the Dallas County Fair every year in July. Money
for this fundraiser helps with KC projects such as the scholarships
given to graduating high school seniors. |

Friends in Faith is
open to all women of the parish. We meet quarterly on the third Tuesdays
of January, April, July, and October, at 7 p.m. in the Mary & Joseph
Room. |

Bonifest:
An annual summer celebration
is scheduled for August at Centennial Park. The celebration brings people
together to celebrate our community. |

Pro-Life Book Sale:
St. Boniface parishioners donated
books,
CDs, DVDs and videos for the book sale. This book sale is an alternative
to the Planned Parenthood book sale and is held the same weekend in
September. |

Playgroup
Looking for a way to meet other families of young
children in the parish? Come to our Playgroup! Parents of children age 0
– 6 years are invited to come Thursdays, from 9:30 a.m.—11:00 a.m. at
Country Club Glen Park. In case of rain, meet at the parish hall. Bring your own snack and visit with other parents
while the kids play. Toys provided. |

Annual
Dinner and Bazaar:
This event
takes place the last Sunday of October each year. This is the one event
where every parishioner is expected to make some sort of contribution,
by working at the dinner and bazaar or by helping with the preparations.
The Dinner is a traditional turkey dinner that is open to the public.
This is a fundraising event for the parish, but it is also a great time
to socialize with the larger community and show them our hospitality. |

Breakfast casseroles for the
homeless
This year St. Boniface provided 402
casseroles which will be distributed Tuesdays and Fridays from the Salvation
Army emergency canteen on the street to the homeless.

All Saints Day Mass:
On the Feast of All Saints Day, a Holy Day of Obligation on November 1 of
each year, there is a special service for the family of those parishioners
who died in the past year. Family of the deceased is invited to come to the
altar and receive a candle in honor of their loved one. This ceremony is
very special to anyone who has lost a loved one, whether in the past year or
at St. Boniface. |
